Cookies and device storage

Cookie policy.

The storage used to protect this website, sign in to the editor and recover unsaved edits.

What is used.

Cookies are small values stored by your browser. This site currently uses hosting security and authentication cookies for its operation. We have not installed analytics, advertising, profiling or optional tracking scripts. Optional tracking would require an appropriate choice before it is enabled.

Security and sign-in cookies.

Security challenges may introduce additional necessary verification cookies. Provider settings and browser behaviour can affect the exact inventory. For provider information see Cloudflare’s cookie documentation and OpenAI’s cookie policy.

Editor recovery storage.

The private editor stores a device recovery copy of unsaved page values in browser local storage under a key beginning refuture-editor:. The key identifies the editor account through a hash and the page. This is used only for recovering edits in the editor you open; it is not used to track public visitors.

There is no automatic expiry. Successful saving or publishing clears the current page’s recovery copy. If a save fails, a copy may remain. Signing out does not necessarily clear it. Use the browser’s controls to remove this website’s local storage, especially on a shared device.

Public enquiry and fellowship forms do not write answers to local storage or set their own cookies. Answers remain in the current tab. A draft or backup that you download becomes a file on the device you choose.

Your controls.

You can review, block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent security checks or editor sign-in from working. Clearing local storage removes the editor’s device recovery copy; save your draft first if you want to keep it.

When following a link to another website, its own cookies and policies apply. Information about how we handle personal data and requests is in our privacy policy.
