Careers and collaboration

Help shape and realise Africa’s futures.

Bring your expertise, curiosity and capacity to turn ideas into useful work.

Refuture Africa welcomes expressions of interest for future roles, project collaborations and internships across our practice.

Work with Refuture Africa

Connect imagination
with practical work.

We work with people, communities, businesses and institutions to uncover potential, imagine desirable African futures and design the systems, enterprises and capabilities that can bring them into being.

Our work connects strategic foresight, futures thinking and systems thinking with human-centred research, design and practical testing. It can involve understanding a community’s needs, exploring a policy or business direction, developing an offer, or helping a team move from an idea to a working test.

We value people who can question assumptions, work carefully with evidence and collaborate across disciplines. Respect for people and context matters, alongside clear communication, sound judgement and the ability to deliver.

Ways to contribute

Different roles.
A shared practice.

Future opportunities may include staff positions, part-time or fractional roles, project contracts and internships. We will set out the scope, responsibilities, location, time commitment and compensation in each confirmed opportunity.

We welcome interest from people working across African contexts and the diaspora. Some assignments may require local research, customer access or in-person work; others may support remote collaboration. Working arrangements will be agreed for each role.

Tell us about your interests, relevant work, preferred working arrangement and availability. A concise profile and an example of your contribution are enough at this stage.

We will review your profile against relevant future work and may contact you when there is a suitable opportunity. Where a match exists, we will share the specific brief and invite you to apply or discuss the assignment. Registering interest does not reserve a position or create an offer.
